DR. ORTIZ ACUPUNCTURE & WELLNESS SYSTEM
The concept of HEALTH is a complete configuration made up of interconnected aspects that involve the whole person, including the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects. With this in mind Dr. Ortiz blends knowledge and experience, to apply the best therapy/ies suitable for the patient's condition.
Here is a brief description of the techniques offered.
TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM): A complete system of medicine with its own form of diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and therapies. TCM views the body as an energetic system in dynamic balance of the Qi, which can be translated as energy or life force, it flows in a regular pattern through a system of channels -or meridians- to all parts of the body.
When the flow of Qi is unimpeded there is harmony, balance, and good health. When there are exccesses, deficiencies or blockages of Qi, there is a signal of disharmony and disease.
TCM helps to restore the body's balance by working on an energetic level affecting all aspects of the person. The beauty of this system is that could be used to correct imbalances that have become illness, or correct imbalances prior to the appearance of symptoms, preventing disease.
TCM is the longest existing continuous medical system practiced in the word, with over 3000 years of history.
ACUGRAPH: The Acugraph Digital Meridian Imaging system is a computerized tool used to analyze and document the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. Dr Ortiz uses this system by touching a moistened probe to acupuncture points on the patient's hands and feet.
JAPANESSE STYLE ACUPUNCTURE: One of a few major styles of Acupuncture. In general terms Japanese Acupuncture is unique in it's efficiency and precision. Its techniques often are directed at using the minimal amount of stimulation to attain the greatest results. Acupuncture needles used are fine and flexible, no thicker than a piede of thread or human hair.
AURICULOTHERAPY or EAR ACUPUNCTURE: The ear is a microsystem of the body, and this technique uses points on the skin of the external ear to diagnose and treat medical conditions of the body, using needles, magnets, electricity or seeds.
KOREAN HAND THERAPY(KHT): Hands are also a microsystem where the whole body is represented. KHT is used for awakening the body to restore health and wellness through the hands. By stimulating specific points and reflex zones, the balance and internal organs function are restored. The stimulation of points may be done in a number of ways, similar to body Acupuncture.
ACUPUNCTURE INJECTION THERAPY: or Biopuncture is the injection of homeopathic substances, FDA approved, vitamins or Chinese herbs into specific Acupuncture points for the purpose of preventing and treating diseases.
CUPPING THERAPY: Method of using glass or plastic cups to create localized pressure by a vacuum. It is known as a “bankings” and helps to release energetic stagnation and restores the normal flow of Qi and blood.
GUASHA: “Gua” means to scrape and “Sha” means toxins. During the session, the practitioner will use a special tool to gently scrape the skin and stimulate circulation.
Gua Sha treatment improves the flow of the life energy (Qi). It can help with chronic pain, poor circulation, fatigue, infections and emotional stress.
MOXIBUSTION: The process whereby a dried herb is burned indirectly above the skin over specific acupuncture points, or the herbs is attached to the Acupuncture needles and then burned in order to warm the needle. This is used to warm the Qi and the Blood in the meridians.
LASER ACUPUNCTURE: Light stimulation instead of needles is used. May be used in combination with the regular Acupuncture treatment. Suitable for children or needle-phobic patients.
ELECTROACUPUNCTURE: As with traditional Acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered, depending on the condition being treated. Electroacupuncture uses two needles at a time so that the impulses can pass from one needle to the other. Several pairs of needles can be stimulated simultaneously, usually for no more than 30 minutes at a time.
BIOMAGNETIC PAIR THERAPY: Medium intensity magnets between 1000 – 15000 Gauss are applied in specific areas of the body in order to help balance energetically the PH levels, of alkalinity and acidity in the body. This therapy has a high rate of success, is non-invasive, safe, and painless. There are no side effects.
ETPS or Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS): New FDA approved therapy that combines the principles of Acupuncture & Neurology with Microcurrent Stimulation. It is a fast, non-invasive solution to all types of pain disorders. Clinically, the intention of MPS is to isolate the root causes of a patient's pain by applying Micro-stimulation to Acupuncture points that relate to different muscles, tissues, and systems (neurological, segmental, myofacial, etc).
TUINA MASSAGE: Tuina literally translates “to push – to grasp”, and is the name given to Chinese Medical Massage. Tuina uses techniques and manipulations to stimulate meridians, acupuncture points or other parts of the body surface so as to correct physiological imbalances of the body and achieve curative effects. Tuina is an important part of TCM.
REIKI: Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki is integrated to all treatments.
TONG REN THERAPY: Method developed from Carl Jung's collective unconscious philosophy, and Qi Gong philosophy. This therapy invites each patient to synchronize with healthy universal energy to restore health. Tong Ren is not a psychological effect, but a Qi healing effect.
SINTERGETICA MEDICINE: A conception of life and at the same time a medical system, that works with different disciplines and philosophies of health. “Sintergética” therapies are designed to bring simultaneously physical, emotional, mental and spiritual changes. It is the synthesis of molecular, energetic and informational concepts, which can be found in some of well known medical systems such as Western, Chinese, Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Tibetian and Anthroposophic Medicine. They are based on the principle that when matter, energy, information and inteligence converge, conciusness is present.
This is why “Sintergética” is known as “Consciousness Medicine”.
LIFE STYLE RECOMMENDATIONS: include nutrition, exercise, prescription of Bach remedies, Herbs or Homeopathic remedies.
